Itinerary
Day 1 - Arusha → Tarangire National Park
Morning: Pick-up from your Arusha hotel after breakfast. Scenic drive through Maasai steppe and small villages toward Tarangire (~2 hours).
•In the Park: Enter Tarangire National Park, often called the “Home of Elephants.” You’ll see:
•Huge elephant herds (sometimes up to 300 together!)
•Baobab trees dotting the savannah – iconic photo spots
•Herds of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, impala
•Bird lovers can spot colourful lilac-breasted rollers and the giant kori bustard
•Lunch: Picnic under the shade of acacia trees.
•Evening: Short game drive while exiting the park. Transfer to Karatu for overnight.
Overnight: One of the best lodge in KARATU town

Day 2 - Ngorongoro Crater
Morning: Early breakfast, then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at the viewpoint on the crater rim for breath-taking panoramas.
•Descent into Crater (UNESCO site):
Drive down 600m into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor is a “natural zoo” packed with wildlife:
•Black rhino (best chance in Tanzania to spot this rare animal)
•Lions and lionesses, sometimes hunting wildebeest or buffalo
•Hippos wallowing in pools
•Warthogs, wildebeest, zebras, gazelles grazing across the plains
•Flamingos and pelicans at Lake Magadi inside the crater
•Lunch: Picnic at the famous Hippo Pool picnic site.
•Afternoon: Continue game drive with possible sightings of cheetahs and spotted hyenas before ascending back to Karatu for overnight.

•Game Drive Highlights:
•The park’s famous tree-climbing lions (unique to this area)
•Thousands of pink flamingos along the lake shore (seasonal)
•Herds of elephants moving through lush groundwater forest
•Troops of olive baboons and playful velvet monkeys
•Stunning scenery with escarpment views of the Great Rift Valley
•Lunch: Picnic inside the park.
•Afternoon: Exit the park and drive back to Arusha, arriving around 4:30–5:00 PM.
